Default Need a RESTAURANT recommendation in San Francisco.. LOOK HERE----->

My friends and I are planning a nice formal dinner this friday night. I was wondering what you guys recommend that is formal, but can accomodate 10+ persons.

Someone suggested The House of Prime Rib but I don't know if that's formal or not. I was thinking The Revolving Equinox above the Hyatt but I don't think that can accomodate 10+ persons.

Thanks guys!

I liked CHAYA the last time I was there on business....I believe it's on The Embarcadero.

It has a sushi bar you can hang out at while waiting...the food is Asian Fusion.

This is my favorite. Take the ferry across the bay. Have a glass of wine on the boat and enjoy dinner. Last time I went they required jacket and tie. You may want to check to see if the dress code changed.

I'll suggest you the Crustacean on Polk St. corner California.
They serve French/Asian cuisine. Food is almost as good as in Montreal. You definitely have to go there if you love sea food and want to impress your friend!

It's not that formal at House of Prime Rib, you can dine there with jeans.
I would recommend Harris Steakhouse over House of Prime Rib, but both are good choices.

The food is pretty good there, but that garlic crab is too messy for a "nice formal" dinner. I can't find any restaurants in the Bay Area that serve a decent "poutine", either!

mrkim, check this thread....
