Wow - time to put a bandwidth warning on this page!

Thanks heaps, guys - looks like I definitely don't need to spend more than $200+ to get what I want!

Hey boka,
I've been thinking about getting the C-700 for a while, but I'm not sure if they still make them. (love that 10x zoom )
So how do you like like it? I notice the flash pops up (i.e., it isn't fixed). Do you have to manually pop is up when you need to use it? Or does it pop up automatically when lighting is bad? That's something I've been curious about.

Anyway, Amazon doesn't have C-700s in stock, and I wonder if they will ever stock up on them. They seem to have been replaced by C-720s, (8x zoom, but 3 megapixel). I might get that instead.

I like it alot!! I bought it for the 10x optical zoom. The picture quality is really good. The flash does pop up, but you have to manually pop it up. There's a little button next to it. You should check circuit city or sears. I've seen them there recently, and I think the price dropped from $600 to about $450. Worth a try...

Dunno why you want such a big megapix camera, a good 1.3 will do just fine. My vote for bang for the buck is the Olympus D100, check it out...

If you ever want to get prints made, I wouldn't go any lower than a 2.
