New 4 door S2000!!
Ignoring copying being the highest form of flattery and all that bull****, at the end of the day the RX-8 is one sweet looking car.
This now provides for the consumer the coupe they may want.
Assuming Mazda can produce a 6spd gearbox up to Miata "snick-snick" levels of quality and accuracy, we have some serious competition (or consumer choice). However the chances are that the drive train combo won't reach the bar set by the S2000.
Maybe (in an idealistic World) this will encourage Honda to move to a 6 year replacement program (with a midlife face lift - read '02) rather than the 12-13 years we are witnessing with the NSX. So by late 2004 early 2005 a NA 280bhp 4 cyl. S2000 with a tuned up interior to compete with the (I am sure) by then high-performance version of the RX-8.
For now where would you rather be than in the twistys with the top down?
NS2000X
(sorry about the length)

I think this is an awesome looking car, too bad they copied so much from the S2000 but it does look good. Now that is a short shifter, I bet it is a 6sp, anyone know? Where can the specs be found for the RX8? I would to see them, I know Mazdas older RX's really kicked but and I bet this one does it even better.

Well, looks like Mazda beat Honda to the chroming of everything. There's chrome around the start button, rear tailights and headlights.

I really don't see how Mazda beat Honda.
