Default New Law here in New Mexico

Cell phones are banned when operating a motor vehicle. they just past this law you have to use a hands free device if your going to talk on the phone and drive.

I think that law exists here in Tennessee as well. The law is just like any other traffic law people are still going to speed, drive without seatbelts, & drink a 5th of bourbon. Now you can add talking on the phone to the list...

been like that for a while 'round these parts... but to be honest, I'm glad, because #1 it's not the easiest thing for a cop to spot you doing it, and #2 that's just another thing a cop will write you a ticket for if he goes easy on you (instead of say, a ticket for 10 over)

Jersey has had it for a few years now. And it's for the best IMO.

I wish we had that law here. Can't tell you how many times I've nearly been hit by some jackass talking on his/her phone.

Well, regardless, I'm pretty certain a majority of accidents in my area still occur because someone is on the phone.

Places in Canada have had this for nearly five nears now, I believe. Great law and it's about time they put it into effect.

90% of the near accidents I see or am involved in are with people on their cell phone while driving. They don't look, they don't accelerate properly, they don't change lanes properly, and they're erratic and impulsive.
