New motorcycle rider question
Boys, boys. Can't we all get along? I'm sure we can all agree that Honda makes the best motorcycles. My personal preference is the VFR 800, but any Honda will kick the a$$ of any other comparable bike.

Wow, thanks for all the advice and additional commentary. Good read, unfortunately the seller backed out (after I gave him a deposit). Sold to someone else for a little more. I would have matched but hey that's how things go. So seriously how are the YZF-600Rs? I found one '98 for about $3.5k with 7k miles. Remember guys just a beginner not looking to do wheelies (yet) just want to practice riding. Do bike shops sell used bikes like car dealers? Do they tend to rip people off as well?
Yes, TP and you need to apply the same advice! By the way, that's unethical! Especially if you gave him a deposit. I hope you got it back? The YZF is another well designed bike with comparable performance. Same thing apply! Take you time and look well. The better you do the better product you'll find!!

The YZF600 is a great bike overall, but re: your previous comments, this says it all. There's not much of an aftermarket b/c the smart money will upgrade to something more sporting rather than fight a losing battle trying to compete against harder-edged sportbikes.
