New Snowboard!
Thank you eBay. . . just got my new ride for this season:
Ride Prophet 156
Burton Cartel Bindings
R.E.D. Synth Helmet
Can't decide if I want new boots or not (definitely don't need them).
What do you guys think of this setup? I wasn't sure about the Prophet, but heard good things on a few snowboarding message boards. Wanted a Rome Agent, but they're tough to get for a good price. Anyone with experience with the Prophet should pipe in and let me know what to expect.
Going to Vail in December. . . great place to break in the new stick!

Never Summer Titan
Drake Matrix
DC Triax [edit - been so long I forgot what boots I had]
Bought them last November and then our mountains here were hit by torrential rain and didn't get to use them once.
Mountains opened up yesterday here though, can't wait

I've always heard good things about Never Summer. . . let us know what you think of it once you go boarding this winter.
Wanna try Nitro's Darkhorse and Burton T6 as well this season, maybe even some swallow tails, never tried that before either, heard a lot of good things about them

I bought these earlier this year.

I'm still an amateur so let me know what you guys think about this setup.

Flow and Northwave also make good products. Looks to me like a pretty nice setup. Did you go to a shop to make sure you got all the right sizes?
Louis 13th, nice write up!
I'm nervous about taking my new board to ride in Colorado. Never been off the east coast, so I have no idea what its like to ride in powder (versus ice). I have my bindings mounted pretty far back right now in the hopes that I can float a little bit better. Any suggestions/tips for riding in powder?

The Clash is most likely a great beginner's board (never ridden one). Good price and probably good performance. Glad to see you didn't go out and buy a Vapor or T6 as a first board. I know people like to get the most expensive board out there and get in over his/her head.

Any suggestions/tips for riding in powder?I've found that riding further back threw me off balance on landings, ducking out my stance helped me though, gave a lil more power to drive through the powder
but there are still no guarantee's that it will be all powder off east coast... bring your helmet just in case . . .

i agree with what louis_xiii said about riding powder. it is slower than ice/hardpacked. and pretty tiring on the legs because you need to use your legs more to maneuver through it.
supposedly setting your bindings back closer to the tail of the board helps with deep powder because you'll be putting more weight on the back of your board so that your nose won't be digging into the deep pow and therefore you won't get stuck.
i have been riding east coast conditions for the past 5 years. i just recently moved to Colorado and went up to A-Basin yesterday. we got lots of powder. it is definitely a lot different riding here than back east. trails are super wide and a lot longer.
my setups:
K2 Mix 150cm
Flow Amp5 bindings (front 12, rear -9)
K2 Mix 154cm
Burton Escapade bindings
Burton Sable boots
