they still suck.

if you like to steal shit, choose windows.

if you are a well off yuppie or student that loves san fran and your own bullshit, choose mac.

unless of course, you are involved in the numerous computer related fields which jive better with mac (and their programs) than those offered on pc.

Actually when it comes to computer programs, macs are not king any more. With macs now using the same internals as any other computer, they have just become overpriced fashion statements that are more user friendly but normally slower then their pc counterparts.

I still stand by my opinion, if your computer savy there is no logical reason to make the switch.

Really? You think the processor matters more than the OS? The Mac OS is the reason to switch.

Also, go ahead and ignore the fact that when vista was released last year the best performing notebook was a macbook pro.

Your post really made no sense. On one hand you say that macs use the same internals and then say that they're slower. Mac OS sure doesn't suffer from the bloatware problem anything like windows does.

You can run Mac OS on non mac hardware. Or you can run Linux.

I'll be the first one to say vista sucks, I was referring to windows XP. Multiple tests have shown an XP system to be just as fast as a Mac if not faster. There are very few, if any, programs (now) that run significantly faster on one then the other.

And thats just my point, they DO use the same internals (aka same brand hardware ) yet are sometimes slower for a 100% price increase over a PC laptop of similar power.

I'm sticking by my statement, you want to be a fashion statement or be one of those "cool" mac users, go for it. In the mean time, I'll save a good amount of money on a faster overall system and stick with my XP based PC's.

Load your PC up comparable to a mac and then compare price. You definitely ain't saving any money and a Mac can also run Windows so with a Mac you get both.

Comparable price??? I just went on the dell website and went to gaming laptops, their base 1,999 dollar laptop is the exact same spec as macs 2,999 dollar macbook pro. Dell is also a good amount more expensive then other laptop companies. Its very well known, macs are a GOOD amount more expensive.

Sure macs can now run XP but at a loss of performance and still some programs don't work even though its "XP" (a couple of my engineering programs will not run on a windows XP mac). And once again, is the huge price hike worth it? Well thats your own opinion. If your computer savy, the answer is usually no...
