Default NFR's Official "I Hate Best Buy" Thread.

The dumb employee thread got me thinking.....

I would like to appeal to everyone here to stop shopping at that hole of a store called Best Buy. I will explain why.

First of all (and I'm sorry, since I know some of our members work there, so you might get pulled into this by association)....their employees have to be the dumbest, saddest, most useless people on the planet....other than the DMV of course There is not ONE person in that store that knows a DAMN thing about electronics.

1)Lack of knowledge. Go to any department, and ask a really specific question. I have never received an answer I am looking for. I often ask them questions I KNOW the answers too just to hear them lie to my face. I will ask them if an IDE drive will plug right into my eSATA computer. I usually get "Yup, I have two of these in mine, they run great." The sound department is even better. They have no idea what an Ohm is.

2)Lazy. I often ask a question like "Do you have "Movie XX" in stock? They first, tell me to go look in that movie's section. Thanks asscrab, I didn't know that without you. When I tell them I was there, and can't find it, they just tell me "Oh, we're probably sold out. Sorry" What? Go check you scumbag.

3)Careless. They don't give a rats ass about the customers. Often times, I will see two employees chatting it up, while I stand next to them, obviously needing some help. Stop talking to each other and talk to the people paying your wage you morons.

4)Overpriced. You can get 95% of the crap they sell online, tax free, for 1/2 price. Why do people buy anything from there?

Thats all for now, add your own moron experiences!

McDonalds employees who don't understand the smaller of the two size soft drinks can't be medium and get dumfounded when you ask for the smallest soda they sell.
Dunkin Donuts employees who when you ask for an everything bagel, toasted with chive cream cheese on the side have to ask you what kind of bagel was that? Did you want cream cheese? And then when you get it, they've spread the cream cheese for you.
The whole fast food management system that shuts down their "breakfast" menu at 10:00 am. Just because. And WILL NOT serve anyone anything from that menu.
Any store employee using a cell phone on duty unless someone's haveing a heart attack, the store is being robbed or is on fire.

Is it me or do all Best Buy's smell like body odor. As soon as I walk in the door, I get smacked in the face with that nasty stench.

Return policy blows ass at BB as well. Thats the main reason why I would NEVER shop there.

Stupid employees, lack of any customer service, TERRIABLE prices on most items, all just add to it

I would normally agree with you on the BB issue. I have had nothing but issues in the past with their stupid employees(some of which were close friends!).

However, I just moved to Peoria, IL and the Best Buy there has been top notch every time I have gone in. They may not be the cleanest or have the largest inventory, but EVERY SINGLE employee I have ever talked to there knows their sh*t. I have even tried to throw them for a loop and they can correct and inform you of a better choice!! None have ever pressured me to buy anything either!

Sorry but my no-shop rant is reserved for Circuit City. They absolutely screwed me on a DVD player purchase some years ago so they get all my hate.

Best Buy rocks. They've got what I want and my local store is filled with mildly helpful monkeys. Returns were never painful and they fulfilled a couple of of warranty insurance policies (both steam cleaners).

You want me to not shop BB? That doesn't leave me much. Fry's Electronics is no better for service, excepting their awesome floor stock. Returns are a nightmare and too many returns are re-packed as new. Target? Sears? Please, don't make me hurt someone...
