Default No more land line! Anyone else take the plunge?!

It's been about 5 days since I have not had a land line at my house. I'm using strictly my cell phone now and I think I'm going to really like it.

The biggest thing for me is that it just *feels* weird not to have a regular phone anymore. It's hard to describe...but the umbilical cord has been cut!

Anyone else taken that leap?

weird, but I was about to do the same.
I've been thinking about getting rid of the land line for a while now, but my room mate doesn't want to. Since he's moving out, I've decided to finally do it.
Lots of my friends don't have land lines.
In case anyone is wondering, I'm doing this, among other reasons, because I hate Ameritech.

No land line here, except for the cable modem of course.

The bigger question is....do people really still pay for long distance? Why not use the cel? If minutes are an issue, it's time to get a new plan.

The sound quality of ALL cell phones is not yet good enough for me to consider this. Also, no land line = no DSL. AT&T Broadband is not a quality alternative to DSL in my neighborhood.

My TiVo requires a phone line so I can't get rid of it yet. I do use my cell phone for all of my long distance though and have for years.

I foregoed the land line when I moved in December. Aside from my strong distaste with Sprint's customer service (the actual phone service is fine), it's not too bad. I never miss a call, which is nice.

I would, but my company pays for my cell phone and I just can't justify making all my personal calls on the company's dime. If they ever take my cell phone away, I'll probably go all wireless.

I love my Tivos, but they are the only reason that I have a land line. I am not sure if TiVo is worth about $30 per month.

I take it you have the stand-alone version and not the DirecTV TiVo? The later can be "fixed" since it receives the guide via the satellite data stream. Maybe a solution for some.

No kidding! I have two Philips DSR6000s - the direct TV - TiVo combis. Where can I find out more about the "fix"?

Thanks
