I am also an American. But none of us are really "native" here, unless you are perhaps, Native American. Even white folks at some point have their lineage traced back to Europe or elsewhere. But I'm still proud to be an American, nonetheless. I love my country, and all the wonderful things that it stands for and that I can enjoy. I vote, pay taxes, and obey the law.

At the same time, I am not so blind as to ignore the fact that all countries have their embarrassments. I mean, think about all the Native American tribes our forefathers raped and pillaged to get where we are today. And slavery??? Don't get me started
