Is it normal?
For some reason, reading threads about wasteful, expensive things like this makes me mad and sad at the same time.
"God, why are you so unfair? These people spend hundreds and even thousands of $ on a pair of jeans while you let some innocent young children else where in the world starve and abused to death. Why, I ask thee, why?"

Tell you what, if you go away and don't come back I'll personally donate $200 to whatever East Asian camp that you select.
And why is it always about starving children FROM YOUR HERITAGE?

the company is called "evisu",
and yes, some of their stuff are really expensive,
because they weave their denim just like the way traditional kimono fabrics are made.

but their regular lines are around $150-$200.
also puma sells jeans made together with them.

I'm currently sportin' Wrangler. Actually, they are Rigg's made by Wrangler. Much heavier material with all the wear areas trimmed in leather or corduroy. Nice, corfortable, functional, and cheap.
I once had an expensive pair of jeans: black with white and red stitching. Beautiful.
I had them until my future-father-in-law saw them, and being he wears the same size...

Also, for kumainu posting about how someone can spend $200+ on jeans that are made by child labor: usually when you spend that amount, they're made by skilled crafters in post-industrial countries, not mass produced by children. By buying the cheap stuff, you're actually supporting child labor.
