Default Novel Security Measures

Everyone knows it is a bad idea to try and board a plane carrying a box cutter, a flight manual written in Arabic, or a sack full of mysterious white powder. But with ultra-tightened airport security, a book could also prevent you from boarding that plane

Everyone is hyper-sensitive right now. You would think he would have thought about that when trying to bring that type of reading material on board.

That's absolutely ridiculous. What freakin' country do we live in now? They searched him and he had nothing on him. What did they think he was going to do? Stand up and use his book to take over the plane? I agree that they need to be tight on security, but they should also use some common sense. This is ridiculous and will make me think twice to ever fly United again.

Wow...that's quite a story. You really can't blame anyone for what happened. It's just unfortunate that the terrorists have allready won one of their battles...to scare us into stuff like this.

That is ridiculous, but at this moment in time, I'd rather err on the side of caution.

No excuse!! At what time, and who determines when that time is, do things return to normal? This is ludicrous and uncalled for! If I want to take a copy of "How to Hijack a Plane" magazine on board, I have EVERY right to do so! Do I have a weapon? Do I present an immediate threat? This is appalling!! Shame on Philadelphia and shame on United airlines!! Terrible!!
