I know this is probably off the original topic, but I ahve aquestion for those that know a bit more about sunglasses than me. I am looking for a set of glasses that are the same general style as the Juliet, but not as much money. I go through glasses so fast that I can't spend $300 on a set and then lose them a week later. I also have a rather large head, and I am looking for a set that may come in either a large frame or wraps nicely to minimize the mellon head effect. Any recomendations?

ive never seen any other frames similar and cheaper to the juliet. one note, if u can learn to not lose them, they are pretty indestructible.

I am thinking of looking to wiley X. They are similarly indestructable, but I will just have to learn to not lose them. They don't have anything as cool as the juliet, but it might just work for me.

Big second on the Maui Jims. They are hands down the best in terms of optics and sharpness and this coming from someone that spends long hours at a time on the water racing sailboats. They use a cross-polarizing technology (horizontal and verticle) that really makes a difference. Somewhere between $100 and $200 depending on style and they do have several wrap-arounds. Back to topic, they will distort/mask some displays. I have particular issues with GPS, cell phone and iPod. But as others have pointed out, tilting up or down will ususally help it out. Clearly worth the trade off to me.

Jon -

I have several pairs of Oakleys, all polarized, and never had a problem seeing the dash.

I especially love my Juliets with the Fire Iridium lenses.

I think I'll be going with the Ice Iridium

What happens is when you look at somthing reflective you will see a spectrum. For example...when I look at the radio display in my brother's accord, I see the display with a mix of yellow/red/blue/purple on top of the black and white display. I can still see it clearly though. Its a little wierd at first but you get used to it after a couple of days.

I was trippin out when I put them on the first few times!
Some windows and stuff gives you that rainbow effect, like how some new headlights have that ion color look. hope that makes sense.

I have the Juliets in both polarized and regular. Polarized lenses have no effect on the S2000 dash, or the Valentine 1 for that matter. I'm not sure about the radio since the door is always shut. I can't wear them in my Audi though. The LCD displays look blank with the polarized Oakley's on in that car.

I love the polarized lenses for bright rainy days to reduce glare, and for long drives they help reduce eye fatigue. For everyday normal use I don't notice any real benefit. The downside is you see a rainbow if your windows are tinted and you see strange patterns in some glass.

The FAA doesn't allow polarized lenses, so no flying.
