off topic s2k. but need help with engine swap info for civic 01
i just bought a civic 01 and plan to engine swap it by next year. i'm new to car and stuff so i need some tips. is it possible to swap the current 115sohc 1.7 with an integra 94+ gsr engine?. so will it be good since i'm getting 170 hp instead of the stock 115?
If you have the resources, you can do anything. But swapping the GS-R motor into your Civic will be extremely costly as the 01 motor does not rotate in the same direction the GS-R motor does. The engine mounts aren't even in the same location as the stock motor mounts so you will need to have those fabricated as well.
So to answer the question of can it be done, yes it can. But it cannot be done cost effectively. It would be much easier, and probably cheaper to swap in an RSX motor as it would be a straight drop in with very little modification to the chassis. Or just leave it stock.
