^ I suppose the propagation of hateful stereotypes towards whole groups of people is perfectly acceptable to you?
Let's face it. The Spanish team is defending themselves by saying that they didn't mean anything harmful by their actions. That it was meant in fun. And I can believe that. Except if you think about it, what does it really say? That slanty eyes are "funny"?
If you mock and demean people for their physical appearance, don't just expect them to smile submissively and lower their heads. I wouldn't expect you to take it either if the joke was on you.
Let me guess, all those who are shrugging their shoulders and saying "what's the big deal", and "don't be so sensitive" are white.

So-you've never ever made fun of another race/sex, using any stereotypes? Every single race (and sex) picks up on the stereotypes & makes fun of that person. It happens--and you know what-it's funny. I laugh at the 'angry white male' image as much as I laugh at the 'lazy mexican worker' or the 'butch looking' lesbian, or the 'smart asian' or the 'dumb polack' or the 'redneck cowboy' or the 'dumb blonde', the 'italian guido, the 'flaming homo', or anyother stereotype you can think of.
Sad that the local news is just now reporting this in Indy. Can you say "obsolete?"
I thought it was kind of stupid, but not offensive. What I really found offensive is that everytime an Iranian athlete has to compete with an Israeli athlete, the Iranian drops out of the competition. Seems that it is illegal for an Iranian to face an Israeli in a competative sport. I feel sorry for those athletes. They either drop out, or never go home for fear of prosecution.
