OMG! hope you don't use Comcast for your ISP
Those bastards! I wonder what the other ISP's have been doing and for how long.

yes, it does sound disturbing, but if the data is used in such a way that it is beneficial for them as a company, then it can be okay.
I think of this very parallel to a project I was involved in some time ago. we worked with a credit bureau aggrigation company. they were NOT allowed to view peoples credit reports, but they could run reports on a lump sum of those credit reports. they could not say where they were from or how they were retrieved, and furthermore, they could not show the data to anyone.
yes, I'd be pissed off, but in another sense, I wouldn't. I wouldn't be surprised if their EULA includes some tid bits of information - just like your DSL EULA which (typically) says that the phone company is allowed into your home at anytime whether you are there or not, whether you are a resident or not. you'd be surprised what is in those EULA's if you actually read them.

I'd be glad to let them watch what I browse on the web, except their service has yet to work in almost 1 month. I've talked to at least a dozen different tech people, and they're a bunch of retards. "Yeah, try unplugging your modem and plug it back in after a minute, that usually fixes things" and if that doesn't work (which it rarely does) they're stumped. Grr.
Billy
I thought that I might be the only person in the world to be told to uplug the modem for five minutes , by those idiots at Comcast. What is worse is.........I did it repeatedly. I'm out in new Haven, so we are very close, maybe it is regional stupidity on the part of Comcast..
