So I'm running vmware 6.0 beta on my desktop and I'm trying to get openSuse 10.2 to load up, just want to get a few stabs at linux, and everytime when I try to go into the installation process it locks up. Running the image of 10.2 from dvd and from cd and in both instances it locks up as soon as I choose a method of installation. Has anyone ever had this problem and possibly a solution?

 

Try running it without vmware if possible. That will tell you if the problem is with Suse or vmware.
