All these reports state, "his body was quickly 'buried' at sea to respect muslim traditions"

aka

"We killed some brown guy with a beard. We didn't take any pictures, but, trust us, it was him! What?! We took blood samples!"

Dumping his body into the ocean means people can't worship his grave or whatever. Has nothing to do with Islamic tradition. Go back and read again. It's, I believe, a purposely ambiguous solution so any would-be "avengers" can't target a specific place where the body was taken or something similar. They shot him and carried him out from the compound, took samples, and dumped the body.

Well played, sir.

I'm going to keep this one open for the time being, but if it starts going downhill it will get moved.

Realistically, I think you're right - an ambiguous answer so as not to set off something huge.

Why wouldn't you want a burial/grave site? You couldn't ask for an easier target/bait. Do your intell, wait for the scumbags to show up, and then BLAOW! Honestly, though, I'm not sure how well this would work IRL.

Also, I've been searching for pics of the body and I've been unable to find any.

ORLY???

SEAL Team 6 doesn't exist anymore... it was replaced years ago by the Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DevGru)... The media is spouting out so much misinformation, its not even funny...

The US Government hasn't released information on who was involved in the operation, or what was used... But my guess would be that either the CIA's Special Activity Division, DevGru, 1st SFOD-Delta, 160th SOAR, or any combination of the previously mentioned were used.
