Default Outlook Express question

Hey guys,

I've got a question about Outlook Express - is there any way I can force it to download all messages (which have already been read) from my mail server? Here's my situation...

This morning, my account was mail bombed with about 18,000 messages. I deleted all 18,000 unwanted messages, but for some reason, Outlook Express deleted an additional 2,000 local messages that I actually wanted to keep. So, now, those 2,000 messages are still on the mail server, but I don't have them locally...telling Outlook Express to synchronize doesn't work because the messages have already been marked as read.

Can I somehow force Outlook Express to download all messages from the mail server, rather than just the new ones?

Thanks a lot for any help...

No idea...

You could try making a new personal folder and copying the mail you want to the new folder.

nexus,

I'm using IMAP...any ideas?

I'm thinking of just moving all the desired messages to a separate folder, and then moving them back to my inbox. That way, Outlook Express will detect them as unread and download them locally.

The only problem with that is, my HTML mail client only displays 20 messages per page, so selecting 2,000 messages to move back and forth will be a huge waste of time...

You need to clear the locally cached messages before synchronizing to the server.

1) Right click on folder, eg "inbox"
2) Local File -> Delete
3) Synchronize Account
4) Delete the unwanted mails.

hth.
