Over protective?
i guess you have to gauge whether or not your friend is a competent driver (e.g.., she's not going to accidentally over-rev the engine by downshifting from 5th to 2nd on the highway). if she's new to driving manual trannies, i'd be a little concerned since the shift gates on the S are fairly close together IMO. if you trust her though, i'd just warn her about the long (and low) nose of the car so she doesn't crack the bottom of the front bumper (or lip, if you have one installed) on a curb, and note the wide front fenders (i tell people who drive mine to use the side mirrors as a good feel for the car's width if they are trying to squeeze into a tight spot (e.g., inside a parking garage where there are usually columns).
Thanks for all of the replys, this is the first "nice" car I have owned, and I would like to keep it that way. One of my concerns is that if I let her drive the car, she will tell all of our friends, then all of them will ask why they never get to drive it. I don't want to upset the "herd", and end up having a whole bunch of people driving my car.
She is a good driver, but she isn't confident trying to drive fast. She has a 04 Mustang GT and I haven't really seen her drive it hard. I'm not sure if she would try to drive my car hard so...
I will probably end up letting her drive my S2000.

If we were talking about a $23K Accord or Camry, would you guys feel the same way?
