Default PA Governer spent $40 Million to get elected

How / why the do you spend $40M to get a $150,000 job?

I am amazed by the stupidity. The funny part is that he only won about 5 counties in the primaries against a different democrat (bobby casey). They don't have the electorial system for our state, or he would not have passed the first test.

Anyway.... Why would anyone donate to spend that kind of $ just to be governer?

All that power....woooooo.... blow jobs for everyone.

I think Bloomberg spent nearly twice that to be Mayor of NYC. I believe it was in the $70 million range. Hell he isn't even paying himself I believe. He doesn't live in the Mayor's Mansion, he doesn't take a limo to work (takes the subway). He is just doing it on his own. Based on his latest job satisfaction ratings, he probably would have been better off taking the $70 million and donating it to the city then being elected as mayor.

The power to make choices that affect a lot of people. Hell if I had $40m and I knew that the money would get me into the Oval Office, I wouldn't have to think twice about paying it.

It's not THEIR money. Any money donated to a election fund cannot be used for to buy personal things. ( IE house. ) However it can be used to hire yer cousin in law to run the advertising campaing where they earn 150K for a 6 month job.
