Default Paintball Gun

Does anyone here play Paintball? I'm thinking about going out and getting a starter gun. Sony Online is having a company game this weekend and I'm going to go...but I want to pick up a gun before I head out. Any recommendations?

I've been looking at the Kingman Spyder EM1 to start off with. But since I've only gone about 5 times I don't really know what I should be looking to get. From what I read its a decent gun.

I'm looking to get something I can mod a bit, but something that isn't crap (like the renters)...

guns get more accurate when you spend what... a thousand or fifteen hundred bucks like some of those kids out there. pretty much just get a clear face mask if you've never been before. there's nothing worse than a loaner face mask - you can't see crap cause its so scratched up.

From past experience I suggest going Full-Auto no matter the cost.

Nothing quite like being in a paint ball war in -6 degree weather. The paintballs froze!
The enemy had one member with a full-auto weapon...I'l never forget that sound.
Yes it was a long and brusing night.

Very realistic battle, everyone crawled, no Rambo charges that night. I had a
welt the size of a grapefruit on my side-through five layers of clothes...owch!

By the way, have fun!

I've been a few times and know the feeling of the welts and bruises...The adrenaline is pumping so the pain doesn't really set in until later that day. I still remember the worse place I was ever shot...

I got shot in the fingers...no protection, just a straight shot. That hurt a lot.

Best time I had was when I shot my boss in the crouch. That'll teach him to keep his legs tucked in

Btw, the Kingman Spyder EM1 can go Full Auto. But I believe the field we are going to doesn't allow it. If it did I know my brother in law with his Angel (I believe that is what its called) would be in heaven...Now that gun is scary to be around. Hopefully I'll be on his team

a spyder or a tippman is the way to go. i have a tippman pro-lite. they don't make it anymore, but it was the best gun evermade. it has lasted me about 7 years, and still shoot straighter than some newer models that my friends bought. just be careful of the balls you buy, don't go cheap, they tend to break, especially in this cold weather. oh wait, i am talking to someone from CA, nevermind... , just go shoot. lucky bastard

Heh, yeah...we don't have to worry to much about the weather. Usually before we head up we make a stop and pick up a couple of cases of paintballs and then head out to the spot.

I'll probably end up with a Spyder EM1 to start off with. I'm sure with more experience and more time playing I'll find out what are the good guns and whats the cheap guns
