Default Palm m505. Anyone have one?

I've been holding off on buying a PDA for a long while, I have reason I actually bought an Apple Newton in 1995. Anyway, I see that Palm donated a bunch of m505's to e-bay to auction off as part of their Auction for America so I'm thinking of buying one.

Anyone out there have one? Know anything about PDA's and have an opinion on the Palm m505?

Tom, I have, at Gregg's suggestion, an m505 and I love it. It's slim, fast and has a great display. The memory slot is good for a 64 mb chip. I highly recommend it...I use mine all the time!

Tom,

I have a Vx (previous model of m505), love it. I store a ton of info on it (from addresses and appointments to mobile versions of many news webites), I use it on a daily basis as well. I recommend one as it is suppose to be better than the Vx.

I would go to a store and check them out first. My buddy has a 505 and I think the screen is very dull looking. Go check out a Sony PEG-N610C or PEG-N760C to see an amazing screen. The Palm screen only has a resolution of 160 x 160 while the Sony screen is 320 x 320 and is also much brighter. There's no comparison between the two and the Sony accepts Memory Sticks so you can add a lot of extra storage space quite easily.

Sony seems to be doing quite a bit of innovation for the Palms and it should turn out to be a very good thing in the future for all of the Palm companies and consumers.

I bought one of the first Palm Pilots back when they first came out!
And, I'll never be without one!
I currently have a Palm V and I'm ready to upgrade to a color one.
And, I have to agree that the Sony looks VERY appealing.
I will probably end up with a Sony!
Keep in mind it uses the same Palm operating system as the Palm brand units.
