I have never had problems with paypal. Maybe I'm just lucky. But to say that paypal offers protection is a joke.

Paypal really is crappy, but it's the best option available.

I had a seller just disappear on me. Never went back to the board, never responded to PayPal claim, just disappeared. He could have died for all I know, but I do know that I did not recieve the product I payed $90 for.
So I filed my claim and since he never responded they sided with me. So they refund my money... $87.30! The bastards took my 3%!

They have us by the short ones and until someone else steps up to offer as good a service (as widespread) with better terms it is going to be this way.
Your complaining? Before paypal you would have just been SOL if he took a money order or check you sent and ran. Man some people....

Yes I am complaining. They did a "claim hearing" and determined that I was ripped off. Then they take thier cut anyway. What's not to complain about.

They made money off my misfortune. Should I have baked them a cake for thier thoughtfullness?
The other guy never removed the money from Paypal. Like I said, I sent the money ,which went from my PayPal account to his (but still was technically in "PayPal land") and he never did anything. They just gave me my money back and took their cut. That isn't a good business practice as far as I am concerned.
