I like CE devices. I like being able to use certain data that I can transfer.

Really looking forward to seeing pda phone.

I say you go with the "Palm-Killer" the windows powered Compaq ipaq... with 200mhz it will put any palm to shame... i had one of the suckers and all i can say is the thing is fun! i kno i used it for all the wrong purposes such as entertainment, it had a mp3 player, movie player and a shitload of downloadable games such as doom! other than that its other features are good, such as a program that actually recognizes your own writing instead of the symbols that palm makes you use...

We have a compaq one at work. We do a lot of CE, Palm development. Everyone has a palm, but I do like the CE ones. I haven't seen the new compaq, but I'm sure it's much better than this one.

I have the Magellan GPS attachment for Palm V. It has never worked. It only locks in two satellites at any time, and the map software is utterly useless.

Ever try planning a trip by downloading maps for the COUNTIES you might pass through?! Total waste of time and ~$100. Don't bother.

As for Phone/Palm integration, keep in mind that Nokia's 8290 will communicate with Palms via IR. This means you can share phone #'s between your cell phone and palm, and you can use your phone as a modem for the palm (no wires involved)! It's not cutting edge compared to Europe or Japan, but it's the best I've seen in the USA.

Yeah, you can even load up an arcade emulator and download your favorite video game roms from the good 'ole days of arcades. The only flaw is that you can't operate two buttons at once - say use the center toggle to move and use the left and right buttons to shoot.

I also have a IBM 1Gb Microdrive in the sleave - it really trips people out when you watch a movie on your iPaq.

Thanks for your insight. For some reason I chose the Handspring Visor Platinum. I'm sure every(any)one can argue for or against my deciscion, but it was (is) my decision!!

That Nokia 9210 sounds like the duck's guts. I'd be interested in one of them.

I went from Palm V to Cassiopeia to Palm Vx to Ipaq to Palm Vx to Handspring Prism and finally Palm M505.

The Palm V form factor always wins me back, there is no beating it for size and functionality.
