You sure about that? I'd like to see some numbers to support this (and not just because you are the son of a claims adjuster)
%100 Sure. Ask anyone with journeyman level car insurance experience. Also, of course there is no documentation to support it because they're not reporting it! The only solid information comes from audits. Not to mention the fact that the insurance companies will never change the successful business model they already have. What do you think would happen if they charged old people and women like they really should?

So you're implying insurance companies are charging women/elderly less than they should be?

That doesn't sound like any insurance company I know.

Um... so there is no documentation reporting it, but you can be 100% of this because you are able to validate this via audits?

I want to see how someone runs this query...

Oh, and one little thing... not all auto insurance uses gender as a rating criteria..

Apparently you've never seen first hand what happens when Old People are charged more then the expect to be. Also, you've honestly never seen a woman at the supermarket argue over being changed under a dollar over for 1 item on her 2 foot long grocery list?

The insurance companies understand that if they charge these "special" groups more then they'll lose exponentially more customers then if they continue to charge men between the ages of 16 and 40 what they should actually be charging.

We're really getting of topic here, the fact of the matter is Women are terrible drivers and should be charge more, unfortunately their not because insurance companies fear the result of change. Especially change that states the truth 1/2 the population doesn't like hearing.

.....and insurance companies have to file their rates (and explain any potential rate hikes) to each state...

I wonder how the DOI responds to "special groups" and their rate adjustment...

You misunderstood. "I" can be %100 sure due to common friggen sense and growing up around all that jazz.

...and yes, audits do provide factual information, but not enough to make change happen, mainly because it'll never be put to use for the reasons I've stated previously.
