Smile People think Im crazy at Work

My eyes are hurting like crazy because of my monitor at work, The Refresh Rate is set at 60hz @800x600 on a 17". I know it can do 85hz min.. but the idiots here called IT leave all the monitors at 60hz. Anyways when I asked them to change it they make it seem like I'm just making it up, I believe alot of the workers here dont complain because 1. They already have bad eyesight and it doesnt effect them 2. They only use a computer here @ work so they only know 60hz (unlike me I have 120hz@home then back to 60hz@work) 3. Some of them are using LCDs and LCDs are DIfferent!!! Am i Crazy? lol sorry if this post is messy im @ work and I made this in a very small window so I can do work and Browse S2ki.com What would you guys do?

I'm pretty sure you can make a complaint and get this changed. It is a big deal. Refuse to work (seriously). Or go into a seizure, that helps too.

It's ing ridiculous that they're locking display preferences. IT manager probably has small wee-wee syndrome.

LoL good idea, do you think its worth it ? does this low refresh rate have a negative long term effect? Because i swear they make it seem like im asking for a Freaken Raise or something sheesh. =(

BTW After Work i Have Blurry vision for a couple of hours, But when im at home using my computer for 12+hrs straight my vision is perfectly fine.. =(

LOL and what does a seizure look like i would have to know to fake one..

Get this changed, it is horrible to work like that.

CRTs are flicker free @ 85hz and above to most humans
LCDs are set to work @ 60hz so it shouldn't matter if you are lucky enough to have one of those.

I dunno i run 60 Hz at 1290*960 at home and i don't notice any flicker. And my eyes don't hurt or anything. Then again I do have bad vision to start out with....

It's okay if you don't notice it, but if you do, it's bad bad bad.

What a horrible IT department. Jeeze. Download one of those nifty bootable CD's with a NT password hacker/hasher. reset the local administrator account. log in, and change it..hehe

Otherwise, I would bitch at my boss or HR.
