I've decided that most of our posters don't know the difference between plural, possessive, or contractions. That difference can change the whole meaning of what you are trying to say.
I don't understand what your saying. You're post makes no sense to me.

a little spelling lesson

meant is not spelled ment unless you're talking about a basement
to does not equal too or for that matter two
and the funniest one i've seen so far was in a write up of a DIY, it said something like:
"walla! and there you have it!" i really did appreciate the write up but it's actually spelled voila

I agree with the horror that has become internet communication. Thing is, I think there are plenty of people who simply don't know how to spell properly or put a proper sentence together. This is reinforced by other people online who are in the same boat. However, there is also the issue of people who know English as a second language. Still, I think there's a gap in education these days...

When the only avenue to the brain you have is the written word you need to be more careful about spelling and punctuation rather than less careful "cause it's only the internet"

Internet or not it is an attempt at communication and if you fail to get your point over the thread denigrates into a verbal fist fight which could have been avoided with a little effort on the person who spent the effort to post in the first place.
Nice run-on sentences, genius.

microsoft should have put an end to this, provide a Grammar/spell checker in their os.

i never put much stock in something a computer can do just fine.

mozila/firefox 2 provides a spell checker in their app, not very good yet, all this a mute point so soon.
Word 2007 has a contextual spell checker where it will fix correctly spelled words in the wrong places.

grammatical structure doesn't bother me as much as long as i can understand the sentence and i understand what the poster is trying to say but it just surprises me to see words interchanged like to/too and your/you're. how 'bout that for a run on sentence. ha. i'm not judging anyone's intelligence and i understand if english is someone's second language but still it's just kind of sad to see people misspell simple words. US needs to pay teachers more!

Cool

This all reminds me of when Ralph Wiggum fails English.

"Me fail English? But that's unpossible." or something like that.

NO, they need to reward the teachers that do a good job not simply pay them all more. As in any profession there are goods ones and there are bad 'uns.

Texas just shot down the incentive pay raise issue in favor of an across the board raise. It doesn't pay to do a good job.
