i agree

my wife is from a rural town (Greely Colorado) and she is not hard core but avoids meat if possible. there are alot of feed lots in and around the place so i try not to visit the in laws. bla bla.

if you dont eat meat... all for the good. there are lots of options and your life dosnt have to be limited in any way in doing this. most people are over weight some how now a days anyway and they will be the first to tell you... another reason to avoid the inlaws.

your cat is actually providing nutrition for you. it considers you part of its "pride" for lack of a better term and is providing food for you. This may sound silly but it is true.

Okay...so I'll admit that I've heard plenty about PeTA and how edgy they've been in their protest tactics...but you have to admit that they pretty much _have_ to be that way considering how society is now.
So, why not work to actually change society?

Admit it...it has to have SHOCK VALUE to get our attention...it's as if we are desensitized.
Why is that? For all of our bickering on here (and quite a few topics), I think this is the problem. PETA is merely a byproduct.

I have my theories on why things have gotten this F'd up in the grand sense. I will say this though; if you want to stop the exploitation of anything (and everything), don't behave like those doing the exploiting.

I bet I can make a fur jacket out of my dog because he's so HUGE! 150 lbs and lots of mass.

Put one PETA representative in a cage with a bear and see how lovely the animal kingdom is. Come on people, if we weren't eating animals, some other creature would be. Welcome to planet Earth, you're about a 400 million years behind
