Default Peter Cunningham tests RSX Type S

Got my new Acura magazine today and it tells of Peter testing the new RSX at Willow Springs Raceway. He basically said The car was "Smooth".

What really got my attention was they used a new car with less than 5 miles on the odometer - trailed to the track.

He drove it for about 20 minutes at speeds up to 125 MPH with heavy braking, etc.

I always thought the brakes and engine on a new car were supposed to be babied for a few hundred miles, in the case of our engine 600 miles.

Makes you wonder if any break in is really necessary.

It is because he doesn't own the car.

Yeah, basically that particular car is doomed to be a test mule or rental car for its whole life. I always cringe a bit when I read car reviews where they've clearly thrashed a brand new engine/transmission. But you can't really blame them - they gotta test whatever they're given.

He won't be giving up his Realtime NSX for that anytime soon.
