just got this asked today by member...

HOW TO resize pictures for avatars

first you must resize the orignal picture, there is various ways to do so

croping is one option

and a easier option is to resize the entire image
to do so go to Image and click on image size

make sure you make the width and height under 100 to fit as a S2ki avatar

you should have an avatar sized picture now, but sometimes the picture exceeds 5,000kb ( size limit)

go to File and click on Save For Web

and try to copy settings as they are on here.. play with the Quality Bar and Blur once the image is below 5.000K it should work as an avatar

**note** dont make it 4.900-4.999K because it might not work when saved on the internet.

Who?

All of those pics are from Windows, using either the Luna theme that comes default on WindowsXP or plain-jane standard Windows widgets.

I should know - I'm on a Mac right now, and it looks MUCH better than any of the above!

One of the best threads avalible.
Nice job guys.
I cant add nothing to it cause I can only do basic stuff with photoshop. I can only show my expertise on getting pirate copys, cracking the activation codes and removing copyright protection from the original cd's ( so theyll let you burn them and all of us here can have the latest version of Photoshop and CS) ( For Educational purposes only, if you like the program, go buy it, people spend a lot of time and money to develop that stuff)
but I should do that training somewhere else I guess.
