it's not making generalizations...it's thinking "hmm, something really sh1tty just happened on some planes a few years back...by a certain group of people...now here's a member of the same group wearing a tshirt that says something like what you'd expect members of that first group to say right before they did what they did."
look, i'm not saying they handled it right. obviously you're offended by it, and he just won a hell of a lawsuit, so sure, what they did was wrong.
if i own a store and members of a race of people come in and tear the place to bits, rob me, and shoot me in the leg...then yeah, the next time a member of that group comes in wearing a tshirt that says "we will not be silent" yeah, i'm gonna pay careful attention. if that's wrong, then i'm wrong. that's how it is.
