Of course, applying that logic also implies that everyone before Bush also did their job well, as we never had attacks like 9-11 during their terms. This is what reminds me of Lisa/Homer/tiger-repelling rocks...

I was also talking about these things happening in the US. If you omit "scale of attack" as a factor, that still cuts your verbose post down by more than 50%.
As for the number of people dying, I think 1 death is tragic enough. 2000+ is even more so... But something I would liken to 9-11 would be Pearl Harbor, London Underground bombings, Hiroshima/Nagasaki... See a pattern yet in terms of scale?
