Well, since they are illegal you won't find them in any pet stores. I believe it's a major fine. You will find them on the street corners in Chinatown. Just walk down Canal St. and you are bound to bump into one. In Flushing it's Main Street close to the LIRR stop, there's this guy that had them last night. They definetly don't sell them year round since they are street peddlers. I would say the season is nearly over. I only see them in the summer usually. Do you know anybody who is going to Fall Colors? Ask around if they still have them in 2 weeks, I'll bring it along and hand it off to one of your fellow members.

 

You might just want to reconsider your quest. They are illegal for a couple reasons. The major one is salmonella. They are rife with the stuff. The other is the green paint they put on them to make them look so cute. Your little turtles will be dead in a couple months. And the little plastic tank will smell up your house, unless you change the water LOTS, which will cause them to die even quicker. Get her a freakin' furbee for god's sake. What is the entertainment value of watching small filthy amphibians crawl around in a tiny prison for a few weeks and die???? Been there Dude. Used to buy them at Woolworth's as a kid. Nasty looking when dead. Eyes all sucked into the head and all. Not worth breaking the law for this. Or maybe a new girlfriend. One that isn't .......... oops! Sorry. Just trying to help.
