Well, his thread title wasn't particularly nice, but the content wasn't bad. I'm sorry if you took offense to this Mingster, but I enjoyed his thread. I learned alot from the responses and think that Taiwan looks interesting.

sorry guys, i did take that personally, but perhaps it has something to do with me being sick and not having as much "civility" and patience as i usually do. i don't deny the ricer contents, but there are places all over the "industrialized" nations that are worse, and that generalization was plain wrong IMO.

maybe i'll just delete this post.

I guess I will do you a favor. I hate to let you make a fool of yourself without knowing why.
The Taiwanese don't roll anyone over with a tank. In fact, most of those American tanks are probably too old to roll anyone over. Since there is no strategic need for tanks, they will probably be in the museums soon. It's safer to say that you have a much better chance of being roll over by a tank where you live.

it is a shame, isn't it? i mean, the kind of awareness you have for global affairs is simply exceptional, and your words clearly demonstrates how highly educated you are.

It is unfortunate I have to explain myself.

I of course know the difference between China and the Republic of China. And I know that tanks ran over people in China not the Republic of China.

I was making use of METAPHOR. To those who are too obtuse to divine my meaning, let me explain. The non-obtuse would know I was trying to use metaphor to decry Mingsters suggestion that the thread be deleted. Deleting threads just because it offends someone would leave us little to talk about.

Sadly, the previous few posters would not fall under the rubric of
