Poll...how many divorced guys are getting screwed by the X?
I'm not going to go into the whole story, but my ex is about to take me back to court for more child support. She says I must be making more money since I can afford such a nice car.
Anyway, I was just wondering if I am alone in thinking that child support laws screw us dads who try to do right by our kid/kids?
Just doesn't seem to jive with the "right to persue happiness" thing we are all supposed to have.

This joke just seemed to fit
A dad walks into a market with his young son. The
kid is holding a quarter.
Suddenly, the boy starts choking, going blue in the
face. The dad realizes the boy has swallowed the quarter and starts panicking, shouting for help.
A well dressed, attractive, but serious looking
woman in a blue business suit is sitting at a coffee bar in the market reading her newspaper and sipping a cup of coffee. At the sound of the commotion, she looks up, puts
her coffee cup down on the saucer, neatly folds the
newspaper and places it on the counter, gets up from her seat and makes her way, unhurried, across the market.
Reaching the boy, the woman carefully takes hold of
the boy's testicles and starts to squeeze, gently at first and then ever more firmly. After a few seconds the boy convulses violently and coughs up the quarter, which the woman deftly catches in her free hand. Releasing the boy, the woman hands
the coin to the father and walks back to her seat in
the coffee bar without saying a word.
As soon as he is sure that his son has suffered no
lasting ill effects, the father rushes over to the woman and starts thanking her saying, "I've never seen anybody do anything like that before, it was fantastic. Are you a doctor?"
"No," the woman replies, "Divorce Attorney."

Well, the questions is "Are you making more"?
If you are, pay more child support.
I am certainly not going to sympathize with you just because your kid is entitled to a better life that you should be giving him or her.
If not, then I'm sorry to see you screwed by another greedy woman. Too bad it's their born right to screw over you in this society. There is no equality. Live with it! It was your decision to marry one

Flying Pig,
That is very true...and yes I make a LOT more than I used to...and I do pay her more VOLUNTARILY. I also do a lot for my daughter on my own. That is where my grevance comes in. There is a point where I will be paying my ex so much that I will have to stop doing those things for her. At that point, what will my kid think of me...daddy is a cheap skate? Also, I put money away for her college education...if the ex gets it, there is nothing that says she has to do the same. Lastly, all the money that gets spent on lawyers could go to my daughter.
The child support laws in this country (for the most part) seem to be geared toward getting money fron fathers that don't want to have anything to do with their kids. So where does that leave the dads that do? I know I opened up a can of worms here, but this is one of our laws that inadvertently hurts some poeple in order to keep others in line. IMHO that goes against everything America is all about...You see I have been "labeled" a dead-beat-dad until my daughter is 18 and I have proved otherwise.
