pop up windows
I'm having this problem with pop up windows. This window keeps popping whenever I surf the net, only, its not a window, rather its just this "minimized" window that appears in the tool bar along the bottom of the screen and all it says is "microsoft internet explorer..." I can't maximize it nor move it. I can only delete it. I've ran adaware and still, it comes up. Anyone else have experience with this problem?
It's some site doing some nasty Javascript. It makes the window difficult to delete (you kill it and it spawns another copy of itself) or it tries to change focus so you don't have much of a chance to select it to kill it.
Grab ahold of a program called "Proxomitron", it stops that crap dead among other bits of web nastiness - including banner ads and other popups.

I'd also recommend ZeroPopup. Integrates into IE and a lot easier to configure.

does it say "microsoft" or "micorsoft?" I have the same problem, but mine says "micorsoft."

a wrapper for IE. It's pretty nice. it also happens to have a built in pop up blocker that works marvelously
