Portable GPS revisited
I picked up a Pioneer AVIC-S1 from Crutchfield, was cheap and works decent enough for me, less than $400, with bluetooth. I didn't really shop for any others though, kind of an impulse buy, I really just wanted the bluetooth part.

From my own research it seems that Tomtom is just well advertised and a mediocre gps.
