It's humid as hell there, and pretty hot all year round. Food is great, but it depends on your tastes. There's mainly Indian, Chinese and Malay foods, and they all influence each other, so you get some pretty combinations.
Depends on where in Malaysia you're going, language might be a problem. In more urban areas, you'll have less of a problem, since most people speak some English. If you speak Chinese, that's a plus (depending on where you go - north side of the peninsular hokkien (fujian) is predominant, towards the middle - cantonese, and further south, mandarin).
Cars are pretty heavily taxed, so it's generally difficult to afford something nice, especially if you're getting paid local wages.
