I got a look today in my S that would have made an excellent commercial. As I was driving slowly through the lot of my local supermarket I passed a Civic sitting in a parking space. As I passed, the window on the Civic slowly lowered to reveal a young man staring over his shoulder at my car with a very covetous look on his young face. His mouth curled in an "O" expression as he looked longingly at the S. I even thought I could hear a voice-over by Honda spokeman Richard Dreyfess in the background.

 

Even here in Japan, where I guess they are rather more common than in the US, people stop and stare, or look the car over when you are sitting beside them at traffic lights.....

I had a great compliment last night, my friend ..... who drives a 996 GT3 ..... drove my S2000 last week and said that he thought it was a gorgeous car. See he still has taste even though he drives a Porka

 

Last night, on the way home from work, I had just parked the S in front of the neighborhood liquor store. (OK, you got me, I was about to go in.) I'd just gotten it washed at the car wash. These two jivey teenage guys came bopping out, saw the S, froze in their tracks, and said "Cool car, dude." They were walking around the car, checking it out, not watching where they were going, and walked right into each other -- bonk, head-to-head. sounded like it hurt. Pretty funny.
