privacy? NOT, for Yahoo/SBC DSL users
I read an interesting article in the SF Chronicle regarding the much pulbicized SBC/Yahoo DSL plan that SBC/ PacBell is heavily marketing to the current users of SBC DSL service. It seems that there are some pieces of information missing from the privacy dsiclosures as Yahoo will gain access to all of a DSL users's info to create profiles supposedly for "marketing purposes". Combined with the current new anti-terrorism laws, any net user accessing trhough the new yahoo/SBC DSL service can be identified by name and info, along with a profile by Yahoo, AND this info will be passed on to yahoo's marketing partners (and perhaps Ashcroft, in case one is visiting the wrong websites regarding t e r r o r i $ m and the like).
Sigh... as our civil rights are being eroded away, Yahoo! and SBC, and probably many other ISP's, will be collecting info about all of us...lets hope this information is not sold/given to the wrong parties...
