Default D'oh! no more cable or DSL...help

I recently moved to the country and lost my access to cable and DSL. Dial up is killing me...I'm...addicted to speed now.
Does anyone have experience with "DirectPC"?
I heard they operate only though AoL, that would be a problem methinks.

Thanx

I think Direct TV offers internet service, but it only works on the downlink as I understand it. You still must have a dial-up link as well for upload/communication.

I believe DirectPC has recently started two-way broadband (no need for the dial-up). It aint cheap though. Something like 600-700 for the equipment, and $70 / month for the service.

Thanks guys,

I'm going to think hard about the 2way satellite service once it becomes available, should be sometime in August. The speed is still not going to beat cable though. About 400kbps and 400-600 ms ping. Still it will blow away what I have now, which is not much.
