Default Problem with neighbor

So, my neighbor upstairs in my complex stomps around literally every night in what seems to be an attempt to wake my apartment up. Not only that, but her dog ( >75 lbs, far too large for it to be "acceptable") constantly howls whenever she leaves it. So, all day and all night this dog just howls and barks.

Well, today was the final straw. I walked outside the door and within 2 feet are two piles of dog shit and an empty case of beer.

I get along with them fine, but I think she and my roommate have a bit of a dispute about how loud they are 4 nights a week at 3 A.M. when the rest of the complex is quiet.

Originally, I just wanted to go shit on their doorstep. But living with two females, they will definitely know where to come about that. What should I do?

Edit: The "doorstep-excretion project" was more of a drunken joke than anything else. Please don't include that in any possible solutions. But these ****ing flies are driving me nuts all around the front door.

file a complaint with the landlord or call the cops when they get too loud. did you try either one of these methods?

The problem is it's one of those college apartments. Management doesn't do shit here. We have no oven, the gate to get in is broken, the AC guy came in and ****ed the unit up changing the filter, garbage issues, etc. Needless to say, I am moving out in a month and a half. Can't take it here. It was supposed to be the "nice" one, so I'd hate to see what the rest would be like.

Would police be any good or no because I don't own the property?

Obviously it's a good thing you're moving. Do you not have any kind of tribunal/government agency you can go to about the maintenance stuff? Here you can file a complaint and usually receive a rent abatement for that kind of
As far as calling the cops re: the noise, I don't think it matters whose property it is, just that someone's being excessively noisy at an unreasonable time.

if you feel adventurous, you could kindly and quietly deliver the dog sh!t back to its rightful owners (ie. put the dog shit on their doorstep)

Otherwise, there isn't a ton you can do in the college type places. Call the cops if it gets really bad. Otherwise suck it up for six weeks

how about exlax in a hot dog and somehow feed it to the dog while the owner is not home. That dog will have diarrhea in the apartment...

I had the same situation in school once.
Girls came home late one night, all upstairs in their apartment partying.
I had gone to bed early for some reason.
I got up. Walked upstairs, knocked on the door, asked if they could keep it down. Walked back downstairs got into bed and didnt hear much else.
Oh yeah forgot to mention I was naked and I'm hung like a donkey.
That helped. As a matter of fact I did go on some dates with the girls from upstairs after and all they wanted to do was get in my pants.
