Well, GT has room to grow. Damage and better driver AI would help a lot. The AI has always been awful (e.g. black-flag-worthy take-overs of the racing line and getting stuck at pit entraces).
Two points.

I agree 100% that GT4 (all of them for that matter) has some of the worst AI in any racing game. The cars are preprogrammed to follow a line, and no matter what you do, they stick to that line.

Next, damage. To my understanding, they did not include damage due to license issues (i think its BS, since Need for Speed has damage.) Manufacturers apparently do NOT want their cars to be beat up. (This is what was said by the GT staff)

If you watch the GT HD demo closely you'll see the Cobra bang into the Jay Leno car on the Grand Canyon circuit and there doesn't appear to be any damage! I know it was just the GT 4 code ported to the PS 3 but COME ON! If they can't show us something truly next gen now HOW IN THE HELL ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO HAVE SOMETHING BY Q4??!!!

To make it worse, the GT guy said the are

Ok, so if you where set on getting the PS3 when it comes out would you opt for the 20 or 60 gig hard drive?

with three times *thanks wickerbill, my math skills suck* the memory for "only" $100. Would you ever really even use that much memory on a game, or even say, 5 games?

Thats what i want to know. I would buy the console (PS3) for GT4 and Medel Gear Solid alone, then maby XBox 360 for the new Halo... Decisions Decisions

I wasn't a mathematics major, but I think 60 GB is three times the space, not twice the space. Anyways, it looks like the 60 GB PS3 also has some other features (HDMI output, memory card slots) that the 20 GB doesn't. I would assume that the games will take more advantage of the hard drive space than just storing game saves on them since there's so much space available. I know that they said that gran turismo would have faster load times because of the hard drive. Knowing that it's probably hard if not impossible to upgrade the hard drive, I would just get the better one if I was going to buy a PS3.

Looks like I have one more excuse to buy a 1080p flat panel LCD. My "regular" 1080i isn't gonna cut it anymore

No shit.

That is what makes these damn game systems really so expensive. Since they look so much better on high def tvs, one is practically forced to buy one.

Of the 70 guys that live in the fraternity house, 6 or so own xbox 360s. Everyone that has and xbox also has a 40 inch or larger plasma screen/hdtv/whatever-ma-callit as well.

Since I am poor, I decided to room with one of these guys next year

I wouldn't rush out. It doubtful there will be a lot of 1080p games since only a portion of the PS3 install base will have the HDMI port. AND there no defined standard for 1080p / 60 fps AND it's doubtful that the PS3 can even do 1080p / 60 fps.
