Pulled over with invalid license in Texas
So I got charged with obstruction of highway (would've been been dwi but i plead for obstruction instead) and the other night I had to make a drive somewhere and I didn't realize one of my rear lights was out so a cop pulled me over for this. I got a citation for the defective tail light and because my license was invalid. I got extremely lucky that he let me drive off with the two citations without impounding my car right then and there so I could see my lady friend but.... the ticket says to appear before the judge in a PRECINCT. Anyone know if I am going to jail or what is going to happen? I'm pretty nervous because I've been trying to do better for myself and then I let myself get called over for some fun and run into trouble thanks to a stupid tail light (and yes I know it's my fault too but still, f**k that damn tail light). And will this affect my current probation sentence?

if you werent drinking how could they charge you for a dwi, I dont think you're telling the true story here...
"An Obstruction of Highway charge is a Class B misdemeanor in Texas that is usually offered by the prosecution in plea bargains, giving those charged with DWI an alternative option to plead guilty to a lesser offense. Sometimes the State will reduce DWI charges to obstruction of highway charges, if they feel they have a weak case."
