Pulled over with invalid license in Texas
I don't know what texas law says, but in PA I was pulled over and was driving on an invalid/suspended license due to some clerical errors between my local police department over past fines that were paid and PENNdot, and I ended up just eating a fine for it. there may be the possibility of an extended suspension. Jail time seems unlikely, especially if he let you go with a ticket and your car.

When you plead to the lessor charge (obtr hwy) it seems (but not clear) that you received a suspended license for a period of time. You did not specify if there were other conditions related to a suspended sentence as part of the plea deal.
If you received a citation for the taillight, you may have just paid a fine/fix it and you are done with that. However, you indicated you also were cited for driving with a suspended license. If that was involved in the original plea deal (if the driving with a suspended license was considered a violation of your suspended sentence), then you could have an additional suspension, revocation of your license, or some other penalty as fallout from that violation. If not, you will receive the penalty detailed for driving with a suspended license in Texas. Unless you can prove you were driving with a valid license, the judge or magistrate will most likely not be lenient due to your track history. Expect your insurance to increase.
