PVR Help...I need the basics
A PVR sounds like just what I need, record shows & movies to a hard drive and burn them to DVD. Great concept, but I don't know jack about them.
Anyone have links or opinions for PVR's? (actually, I did my own goggle search, I just need informed opinions). I'd like to save full resolution video, as uncompressed as possible, with the ability to edit, and archive. Oh yeah, it's got to be free...no TiVo or other subscription setups.

I'm not sure how I lived with out PVR!!
Though I'm not sure I can help you to much on the info side. You can PM Dogman, he just hacked his, USB wireless, set it up as an FTP, controls his box, stations, PVR events remotly.. pretty much the coolest thing I've heard of in a while

I just remembered, he flew to Brazil today, so be patient with his repsonse time..
another cool thing is he can extract the guide information, he was at work emialing me descriptions saying is this good? should I hit record? too freakin cool
