Qantas may be bad and having nothing to brag about, but it's nothing compared to US airliners which aren't any better. In fact, almost the worst in the industry.

Qantas has never had an accident with their jet planes (up until the door blowing off incident). They have had a few turbo prop planes crash when the company was in its beginnings.
