Default Question: Am I being rude?

I took my 2 nephews and their friend to Legoland and as we were waiting in line for a ride I asked my mom and brother to join us. This lady behind us started to yell at them for crashing the line and told us it was rude and disrespectful to all these people waiting in line. I told her that we were together and just wanted us to be all there and watch the kids play. We weren't even going to go to the ride. I offered her to go ahead in front of us but that didn't seem to please as she kept saying how rude we were to her husband. My question is would you consider what I did rude?

pfsh....line holding is fine. You guys aren't in line waiting for a house to go on sale or something. Would she have said the same thing if a bunch of young kids had joined their relatives in line? Probably not.

And props for being the bigger man and not flipping out, lord knows I would've.

Wait, they got in line in order to watch and weren't even going to do the ride?

Actually even if they were going to do the ride, I don't think you were out of line. I mean sure it's a little annoying, but come on like holding so a couple of older people can sit. Give me a break.

I don't think you were in the wrong.

I didn't want to make a big deal out of it because there were alot of kids. My mom who speak little English got really scared because she didn't know what was going on. She really felt bad about it. I've been to lots of buffet in Vegas and people usually hold the line for relatives and friends and never seen anybody complain about it.

I hate it when people save spots in line. I really hate it when one spouse gets in line at Costco while another goes shopping around, when I can't. Having said that, saving a spot in line so someone old can sit out of the sun sounds totally fine. Also, while I think line saving is rude more often than not, going into a lecture session on someone that is doing it is way worse than saving a spot in line. I would *never* go lecture someone for doing it. It's tough to come off with any credibility lecturing someone to be more polite...
