I am strongly considering enlisting later this year in the US Army. I was wondering if anyone knows about MOS 35M or 37F. These are the only jobs I'm interested in right now, anyone got the inside scoop or a heads up on similar jobs I may be over looking.

 

What mos codes are those? I was in the Marines and know nothing about army mos codes.

They are both intel jobs but 35M does a little door kicking from what I've heard. 37F is an analyst and stays inside the wire.

 

Go with 37F then . No reason to be put in harms way if you can avoid it. Unless thats what you want.

While I like being an enlisted flyer in the USAF... I would love to be in the Army flying apaches watching enemies/terrorist explode.

Wow, I would love to talk to you about your career. I like hearing stories of the "old air force". I just went through ALS and we had a downed F4 pilot who stayed at the "hilton" for 6-7 years come talk to us as a guest speaker. Crazy stuff, really hit home because I went through survival school too.

 

I have a buddy that was 35M... He would mainly do debriefings and interrogations, didn't see much action... He said that his Alpha team would go out looking for trouble a lot, and in his words "they found it more than a couple times." 35M & 35L would be cool, but they are pretty tough to get into... If you enlist, you aren't "guaranteed a spot", no matter what the recruiter tells you...

Also, both jobs that you are looking at require DoD Secret clearance... Anything in your past that will prevent you from receiving that? Any relatives foreign nationals? living over seas? Have you lived over seas? Any drug-related charges? and DUIs? Done any drugs or weed if so, how recent? any criminal charges? how many tickets and how recent? Any jobs that you left on bad terms? Any neighbors or relatives have any dirt on you? Any skeletons in the closet? Any bad credit? Past due on any bills? Any defaults? bankruptcys? Repos? ...Any of these things could disqualify you from getting Secret clearance... And then you could be thrown into the infantry, or a cook, or cleaning toilets...
